So last week I found one of these scurrying across the flow while watching ROME Season 1 on DVD (A MUST have).
I introduce, the House Centipede (Scutiger coleoptrata)
Imagine this sucker, an two to three inches in length… with the potential to bite (not pierce skin, but leaves an itchy sensation).
It was definitely not the most fun to catch… as it was super fast.

I used to have those things in my house in Crystal. I hated them because they look so disgusting. When you hit them they kind of exploded and fell apart, and their legs would fall off and twitch. The cats would play with the legs after I killed them. Ick ick ick.
I should show you pictures of the wasp that Lis and I caught while she was up here. The female was over 8 inches, including the ovipositor. She was huge, but not nearly as cool as the tiger salamander, if you ask me (Lis would say the wasp was cooler though).
Let’s see the wasp!
