As I sit here at work… my last day in the office… a weird feeling comes over me…
I hear music, something from a WB show outtro… and flashes of all of the good times I’ve had up here in the TC area.
Is this dramatic? Yes… Is it sad? Yes… But it’s happening, I’m moving to Texas.

Goodbye Minnesota… and to all of my friends up here, I love you all and wish you the best of luck in the future.
Y’all will see me again, I’m sure of it. Later.

These are his words:
jake good is a man of mirth
whose hair had a lot of girth
he found a nice girl
and gave it a whirl
to move with her down to fort worth

An artist depicts the Prophet Mohammed as a dog… and now has a $100,000 bounty on his head (or an extra $50,000 by throat slit) from Al Qaeda…
Wow… Just wow.
What amazed me was at the end of the article…
One Swedish Muslim woman who lives just an hour-and-a-half drive from Vilks said she hopes to make good on the al Qaeda threat and slaughter Vilks like a lamb.
"I can do this in the name of Allah, and I will not fail. I could slaughter him in the name of Allah," says the woman who identified herself only as Amatullah.
She adds, "If I get the opportunity."
Dressed in a black burqa from head to toe and uttering death threat after death threat, the woman -- a wife and mother -- says she is defending her religion and her prophet if she manages to kill Vilks.
Amatullah has already been fined for issuing death threats. Still, she claims she will never stop taunting him.
Makes me glad that I’m at Atheist and don’t have these pressures to feel as if I have to murder someone…

Seth Godin is one of those guys on the web who you don’t want to ignore… he often times comes up with great advice and insight into our industry…
Today’s post, hits web site development ON THE NOSE.
Since I’ve been on some large scale website projects, I’ve seen how some of these things can ruin a site; or push them into top spots…
Very good advice indeed…
The best one: “1. Fire the committee. No great website in history has been conceived of by more than three people. Not one. This is a dealbreaker.”

I’m just about to head on a plane out of Fort Worth, TX… yeah I said Texas! To head back to Minneapolis…
While I was here, I saw a lot of interesting things… for sure and Becca and I snagged a cute little house to live in once we move down here (less than a month away, yikes!).
Some quick observations:
- Asking people to go to Church with you is very common, even used as a way to get a date…
- You can still smoke pretty much everywhere down here…
- It’s hot. Though I hear it does get cold enough to ice over. (looks like new tires for the civic)
- The truck to car ratio is about 3 trucks to 4 cars… not crazy uncommon but still more trucks.
- Not everyone has an accent, but the ones who do… let me tell you.
- People are nice down here and talk to random strangers quite easily.
- It’s hot.
- It’s huge… Coming from small town Iowa, I know Chicago and New York are big… this is a big area as well…
- Beer is dirt cheap, booze is not.
- I have to learn to two-step…
At any rate, here’s a quick set of photos to go along. See… I didn’t just leave you with a boring all-text post! (These are thumbnails on purpose)
Our hotel room had a kitchen (wtf?):

Bails of hay on a major freeway, during rush:

Our new kitchen:

Yup, we ARE in Texas:

At any rate… we’re heading down on the first of November… 999 miles… to a new chapter in our life. This one will be exciting!
